ReviewsFirst found this store around MAR/ARP 2009 while surfing for card shops online. Not too many shops in San Diego. It was hard for me to go to North County without a car. Talkin' Baseball was near a trolley stop, which I thought. Found out I could either walk the 1.5 miles or take a bus. I decided to take a walk, since it was my first time in Santee. Talkin' Baseball was easy to find. The owner was very helpful. Not too much basketball, mainly because there is not a huge basketball fanbase when it comes to card collecting in San Diego. I bought a box of Hot Prospects 07-08 & pulled a Derek Rose AUTO/RC. I was extremely happy with my adventure out to Talkin' Baseball. After talking to the guy, I realized I bought a few cards off ebay from him. Made the trip out there all the much better. I recently returned from deployment in NOV 09 & tried to stop by, but did not see it. I did not see any signs saying moved or anything. Been searching for the new location, without luck. While going through some card shoe boxes, I found the business card the owner Bobby Carlson gave me. Will try to call him on Monday to see if he moved locations or decided to stay an internet card shop instead of the old school hobby shop that I grew up hanging out in as a kid growing up in the 90's. -- http://photobucket.com/jpleazme (josh) |
